Gilbert Proposes!

(wouldn't seneca get suspicious if Gil said it any other way? XD)

Gilbert sighed faintly and nodded.

"Okay...that sounds awesome enough..."

(not really haha he's been working hard lately, not that he doesn't anyway haha, but ya he needs a good break )

Marco smiled. "And I believe you can be lovey dovey if you really put your mind to it," he said to him.

Gilbert flushed and made a soft sound before glancing away.

"I guess....I totally can. I'm awesome..."

Marco rolled his eyes slightly. "Just tell him what you feel in your heart and don't try to make it sound like you with the whole 'awesome' this and 'awesome' that. Just tell it to him straight. Those words will mean more to him than any of your 'awesome' bullshit," he said.

Gilbert bit his bottom lip and his shoulders trembled faintly.

"...okay..." He murmured weakly.

"It's really not that hard. Tell me how you feel about him. Like, how you feel from your heart," Marco said.

Gilbert flushed and then nodded faintly, mumbling something softly under his breath.

"He's so awesome, Marco. Every little thing that he does, I love so much...and I'm not good with words, you know that. B- but I want to spend forever and ever and then some with him..."

Marco shook his head slightly. "You don't have to be good with words to tell him how you really feel," he said. "Even if it comes out a jumbled mess, he should be able to get the gist of it and understand. I mean, you're gonna ask him to marry you, call me old fashioned, but that typically means you care a great deal for him. And if you find you really can't say what you feel, try to show him. I'll leave that part up to you though," Marco said with a smile.

"Mm...that all sounds good.' Gilbert mused faintly, playing with the little box in his hands.

"B- but, not that he would or anything since we're both totally awesome, what if he says no?"

"I see no reason why he would," Marco replied. "He's the reincarnation of Masselin after all with all his memories of you. But, if he does say no, you accept that answer. Sure it'll hurt, but it's his decision and you can't force anything on him that he doesn't want or that he's not ready for. That's a chance you'll have to take. There's a fifty-fifty chance that he might say no, but c'mon, look at what you two have. Your love for each other has spanned centuries and it's still there, even after Masselin's death. I'm pretty sure 'no' is not an answer you have to worry about."

Gilbert nodded, releasing a small sigh. It seemed that hearing that definitely helped to make him feel less nervous about the idea. Not that he was nervous in the first place. No, he was too awesome to be nervous. He was just...argh, he didn't even know the word for it.

"Good..."

Marco smiled. "It's okay to be nervous, Gilbert," he said. "I sure as hell was. But it worked out in the end. And I'm sure it will for you too."

"I- I'm not nervous." Gilbert denied, but weakly.

"It'll work out. Because we're both awesome like that..."

Marco arched an eyebrow at him. "Uh huh," he replied. "Alright, so, recap: how are you going to propose?" he asked.

Gilbert flushed and stuck his tongue out playfully at Marco.

"I'm taking him to a play and we're spending a weekend at a cottage on the beach. Then, when everything is all fine and dandy and I'm all serious-like, I propose to him telling him exactly how awesome he is and how much I love him."

Marco chuckled and nodded slightly. "Alright, good," he replied. "So, do you feel better about this now?"

"Totally. I feel fucking awesome about it now." Gilbert beamed.

Marco nodded slightly. "Can I see the ring?" he asked.

Gilbert nodded faintly and gently handed Marco the little white leather box.

"I waste no expense on him, Marco. I saw this and I knew it was perfect..." Inside the box was a beautiful ring of yellow gold and white gold and several small diamonds decorating it.

It was surprisingly simple, considering Gilbert was the type of man who liked to go all out.

Marco stared at the ring and smiled before looking up at Gilbert. He smiled and closed the little box, handing it back again. "It's beautiful," he replied. "I'm pretty sure he'll love it."

Gilbert took the case back into his hands and cradled in gently in his hands.

"I hope so too."

Marco smiled. "So will it be this weekend?" he asked.

"Mm, probably." Gilbert mused.

"Gotta get those tickets first."

Marco nodded. "It'd be a good idea to get on that now," he said, leaning forward against his desk.

Gilbert immediately jumped to his feet, thrusting one fist in the air.

"Right! Okay, that means I totally need to go. Talk to you later, Marco! Thanks!"
